My Better

Who am I to say what's better? Why not me? Should I be cowering in a corner? Should I be meek and timid, living to someone else's tune? Either I live according to the belief that all of us are equal, and equally empowered to stand up and say what is good, or together with everyone else I sit down, shut up, and never have an opinion on anything. I believe that what goes for me goes for you, and I like to be happy. Who am I to say what's better? I believe in "better for one AND all".

Who am I to say what is better? I am one who says war, and the constant fighting in the world is bad. I am one who says that all should be happy. I am one who says that we should help each other just because. I am one who says that as long as they do not force their views on me, anyone, or everyone else, people are welcome to do anything their hearts desire. I am one who says that there must be a "better for one and all" because the opposite is "better for some" or even worse "better for none", and I don't know who decides which some I am a part of.

Who am I to say what is better? I am one who says that better for one and all is just that, better for one and all. I am one who says that fun, and pleasure, and joy are better for one and all. I am saying that what is better for all is better for one, and vice versa. I am saying that health and prosperity are better for one and all. I am one who says, why are you fighting so hard against these ideals?

I am one who says that either we all have a voice, or only some. I am one who says that if we all have a voice, then "better for one and all" ideas may come from anywhere and anyone. I am one who says that an idea should be judged on its merits, not on its source, and if everyone thinks it's better for one and all, then it's probably better for one and all. I am one who says that if you do not like these ideas, how would you make them better?

Fine, you think I'm naive! You don't want to live in my sugary, nice-nice world. Then tell yourself exactly how it is you would like to make your life more difficult. Exactly what kind of misery would you like to heave onto your shoulders? Would you like to be poor and starving? Would you like to be ill? Would you like to live in a world of conflict, war, lies and deception? Would you like your life to be one big painful wound? No? Then why don't you join me? Why don't you join me in making life "better for one and all"?
